Welcome!
Well, this is us - just a humble, little family of six. And this is my story, of leading these precious little creatures - through this life to Our Lord in Heaven. I love to write, so this is an excellent outlet for me. And, a great opportunity to share my love of the Lord with the world through my vocation as a wife and mother. Please be advised that I am far from perfect, but I am trying. Trying to be a faithful daughter of God, a loving and supportive wife, and a loving and encouraging mother to all my little ones. We are an anomaly in our families because we have four children (gasp - I know) and are homeschooling. But we fit right into our faith community. We are part of a large, growing number of families at our parish who are open to life (aka larger families) and choose to homeschool. I stay at home full-time and my husband is the sole financial provider. We do without a lot of things to make this work. We don't live in a great area but we can afford it. And I am a couponer, saving money one coupon at a time to make our budget stretch. But do you know what I have discovered? We do better without all the extras. We are closer as a family and more focused on what is truly important. It reminds me of what Jesus said in the story of Martha and Mary.
"Martha, Martha, you are anxious and worried about many things. There is need of only one thing. Mary has chosen the better part, and it will not be taken from her."
Luke 10:41-42 NAB
I'm so Martha right now. My true goal is to be like Mary all the time. And I'm working on it every day. Life is crazy busy, but it is so good. Never in my wildest dreams did I ever believe that the Lord would give me all that I wanted, and so much more. God truly is good!
